Project description : The aim is to develop a robust mobile universal diagnostics that can function even in minimally resourced areas. It must provide one of the highest biosecurity standards, including enabling the safe handling of highly contagious pathogens, such as Ebola. One of the major challenges to address is the control of temperature (25 deg) and humidity (max. 70%) inside the laboratory working space in an environment where the external temperatures can reach 45 deg and 100% humidity. The goal is to design/implement suitable heat exchange strategies to control the temperature and humidy and avoid condensation.
Required skills: Mechanical Engineer – Master’s Thesis topic. Final year Bachelor’s students, who wish to start as a semester project and continue as a Master’s project, are also welcome to apply.
