Creation of a Cost-Effective and Easy to Build Bioreactor

Description: This project is the result of a collaboration between the university Univalle (Cali, Colombia), CODEV (EPFL) and Hackuarium where the goal is to create cost effective bioreactor in order to monitor biological processes at the laboratory scale. Various application in the field of waste treatment or methane gas production are foreseen thanks to the large biodiversity available in Colombia.
Aim: Create a cost-effective, easy to build, fully automated, reliable, modulable, open-source, open-hardware bioreactor that allows to control its temperature, agitation, pH, input of gases and input/output of nutrients (semi-batch or continuous operation). Add-ons should allow to monitor conductivity and nitrogen concentration.
