The EssentialTech Centre is an interdisciplinary centre whose goal is to harness the cutting-edge expertise of EPFL, in order to develop suitably adapted technology innovations for supporting sustainable development, humanitarian action and the promotion of peace in low & middle-income countries (LMICs). Our primary geographical focus is sub-Saharan Africa, due to the disproportionate scale of the challenges we seek to address in that region. Towards achieving our objectives, we have developed a unique methodology that is predicated on three pillars: Cooperation, Collaboration & Entrepreneurship.
EssentialTech is continuously looking for motivated students at EPFL from all disciplines, who are interested to work on current or future projects at the Centre towards their semester project, Master’s thesis or internships involving some of our external partners. For each candidate, we typically select and tailor the project to match the student’s background and interests, while still ensuring meeting the identified need.
Please visit our website to have more information about our activities: https://essentialtech.center/. Note that our project opportunities are continuously being updated internally and thus not necessarily published online. Feel free to contact Dr Soli Makohliso (firstname.lastname@example.org) to explore and discuss potential project opportunities.
